WEEKLY UPDATE
Welcome to the weekly update, and what a week it has been! Loads of you rocked up to club on Thursday night (57!) and we had some great racing today at Vogrie park with three of our members getting on to the podium! Well done everyone.
Website troubles
Last week I said that the weekly update would be appearing on the website, and many of you came to me and said that you were having trouble getting on to the website. This seems to be a quirk with some WiFi providers. If you look at the website using your mobile data, rather than WiFi, it should work. However, Oliver Jackson is working on a fix for this, but it seems like it may take a bit of time. I will continue to post the weekly update to the website and the Facebook for the time being.
Group splitting
It is super important to us that we keep the community feel, but our coaches and the park itself can’t cope with the huge numbers we are getting, particularly in January! So…you will see it be more common that we will all warm-up together, but then split off to run the session in different places. If logistics work out we will try and cool-down together too! Feedback will be sought on how that is going, don’t worry!
Club champs
At time of writing the Scurry around Vogrie results have not been updated in the champs standings, but they will soon, along with any Parkrun times from yesterday. Check back here in a few hours, or tomorrow morning at the latest.
Remember, the last champs race of this year is the XC Masters in February and Kathryn is taking names for entries by 3rd February. We have a good number already, so it could be quite the event! We will be subsidising entries too. More details at the link:

And of course, check the website for the 2026/2027 race announcements!
Birthday party!
We are having a 2nd birthday party in March. Please come and socialise with your fellow members, it will be fun! Details below:
All the details for our birthday celebration have just landed in members’ inboxes!
It’s set to be a night of socialising, pub quiz fun, games, and good vibes all round.
Tickets cost £7 per person, which includes a welcome drink!
Please RSVP by Thursday 13th February using the Google Form link in your email.
If you’re a member but haven’t joined our mailing list, please contact info@werunclub.co.uk or speak to Kathryn to get the RSVP form.
Parkrun Takeover
We are taking over the Hailes Quarry Junior Parkrun on 1st February. All the volunteers will be from the club. We have done an amazing job getting an almost full roster in a manner of days, but we need three more to make it officially full! Remember - volunteering counts towards your club champs score! Email Emma to volunteer at hailesquarryjuniors@parkrun.com with WERC takeover as the subject.
Sessions this week
As always, check the calendar for this week’s sessions!
