WERC TAKES ON THE WO(MEN)’S 10K 2026

It was a brilliant day of racing in Edinburgh as WERC took on both the Men’s and Women’s 10K, with plenty of pink and navy out on the course - and just as much support from the sidelines!

The men kicked things off first, cheered on by the WERC women as they made their way down Lothian Road, before the roles were reversed later in the day and the men lined the final mile to give the women a much-needed boost towards the finish. There were fantastic performances throughout both races, including Keith, Val and Adrienne all finishing first in their respective age categories.

For some members, the achievement was simply getting to the start line, with a few battling injuries and adjusting their race plans accordingly. Whether chasing a time, taking things steady or cheering from the sidelines, it was another race day full of the encouragement and community spirit that makes WERC so special.
