SCOTTISH RUNNING WEEK
WERC is excited to be getting involved in Scottish Running Week from 1st-7th June 2026 in partnership with Athletics Trust Scotland. Throughout the week, we’ll be helping raise awareness and funds for a brilliant cause that works to make athletics and running more accessible for people across Scotland.
Athletics Trust Scotland supports projects and initiatives that help remove barriers to participation in sport, ensuring more people have the opportunity to experience the benefits of running and athletics, regardless of background or circumstances.
To celebrate the week, we’ve got a number of fun activities planned for members and the wider running community to get involved with.
What’s happening?
Early Risers Club Open Month
Throughout June, our Early Riser Club will be open to non-members, giving more people the chance to experience the community spirit of WERC and start their day with some early morning miles.Team Relays at Cramond Promenade
One of the highlights of the week will be our fun relay evening at Cramond Promenade on 4th June 2026. Expect team spirit, friendly competition and plenty of encouragement from the sidelines.WERC Bake Sale
No WERC event would be complete without some sweet treats. We’ll be hosting a bake sale after our relay event, and this will help raise additional funds for Athletics Trust Scotland.Holyrood Park Run Take Over
We’ll also be bringing the WERC energy to Holyrood Park Run with a takeover and plenty of club colours on show.
Scottish Running Week is also about celebrating the running community, encouraging participation and recognising the positive impact running can have on people’s lives. We’re looking forward to a fantastic week and hope as many members as possible can get involved!
